The hand-crocheted hat follows the shape of the head and sits well on the head even without ribbons. Eyes are hidden from the autumn sun by a curved beak, which can be turned up. This is a hat for an active little boy, who saws trees behind the house, hits the spikes and climbs a tree to pass time. When going to the city, however, he swipes the sawdust from the hat, straightens the beak, and marches proudly to a cafe to munch pancakes.
